The Callisto Protocol Patch Is Now Available, Developers Address Technical Issues

Some more patches are already on the way.

The Callisto Protocol

The Callisto Protocol received its first update, enhancing the game’s performance on PC. This patch is now available for download, and developers have announced further work to improve optimization.

A recent release was not without its problems. This title met with considerable criticism from PC gamers, mostly due to optimization problems, due to which even owners of the most powerful hardware faced frame dips and being thrown to the desktop.

The negative feedback did not escape the attention of the developers, who quickly announced that work on a performance-enhancing patch is already underway. We didn’t have to wait long for the results, because the update is now available for download.

Curiously, reactions to the update are rather mixed at this point. Many gamers have acknowledged that the state of the game has improved. However, some others suggest that the production still faces considerable problems.

“The game works much better, thanks a lot. Now it just needs improved optimization. Personally, I’m playing on a 3080 card, Ryzen 5900HX and 32 GB of RAM, yet I still have performance issues on low ray tracing settings,” – writes one gamer.

“Sorry, but the patch didn’t do much in the way of stuttering on PC. At first the game worked a little better, but as time went on it got worse and worse. I didn’t continue playing because the performance problems were spoiling the gameplay (I’m using a 3080 card, and I barely play on medium settings).” – comments another.

Notwithstanding the conflicting opinions, overall rating of The Callisto Protocol on Steam has changed from negative to mixed, which might suggest that the game’s condition improved to some extent. It’ worth noting that technical problems affect only the PC version. We will not experience similar performance drops on consoles.
