Xbox Game Pass Wraps Up the Year With Some Bad News for Gamers

2022 was certainly a great year to be an Xbox Game Pass subscriber. There were major releases, Day 1 launches and several surprises during the last 12 months; nevertheless, everything indicates that it will end the year in a disappointing way.

Microsoft usually announces new titles for the first and second half of each month. As you might have already noticed, Microsoft has not revealed the games that will be coming during this final stretch of December.

This is due to the fact that there are no plans for more releases at the end of the year, thus, the Xbox Game Pass will close 2022 with no new titles.

Users of Xbox Game Pass have been wondering what happens to the games for the second half of December. So they’ve used social networks to ask for information on the matter and find out if there will be more releases in 2022.

Because of the lack of the timely announcement, a lot of users took it for granted that there would not be any more releases in December.

This situation was clarified until Megan Spurr, the service’s social marketing manager, talked about the issue via Discord.

He revealed that there will be no second wave of games for December, thus Xbox Game Pass would close the year with no new releases.

At the moment, there is no further details on the matter, thus there is no clear explanation about this decision.

That being said, High on Life, Potion Craft and Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan were the last titles for 2022.

It is worth remembering that Hot Wheels Unleashed – Games of the Year Edition was due to hit the service on December 15, but it was unexpectedly delayed.

Spurr also said that they will be back with announcements in January 2023. As we know, the Xbox Game Pass has already got attractive games lined up for practically the whole of next year.

So it is a matter of waiting just a few days to see more incredible new additions to the service’s already robust catalog.
