Chad Stahelski, the talented filmmaker behind the John Wick film series and the highly anticipated “Ghost of Tsushima” project, recently provided an update on the status of the latter.
Although the news may not be the best, Stahelski remains optimistic about the future of the project. The director told Slash Film that although the project is currently stuck at the script stage, they have a “really great script” and a “great creative team” behind it.
However, Stahelski acknowledged that there are still a lot of business topics that need to be connected and that the process of finalizing deals is ongoing.
Despite the challenges, Stahelski remains enthusiastic about the project and is confident that it will be worth the wait. He mentioned that the new technologies being used will help to create a truly immersive “samurai atmosphere”.
The director also mentioned that there is a lot of work that needs to be done on the creative side before they can start filming, but he is determined to make the final product truly impressive.
It’s not uncommon for film projects to get stuck at the script stage, especially when it comes to game adaptations.
However, with Sony putting more emphasis on these types of initiatives and the recent success of “The Last of Us”, it’s likely that the company will be even more focused on making “Ghost of Tsushima” a success.
Stahelski has also previously stated that he wants an all-Japanese cast and for the dialogue to be in Japanese, which has reportedly already been approved by the publisher. This attention to detail and commitment to authenticity are just a few of the reasons why fans are so excited for “Ghost of Tsushima”.
