Netflix Keeps On Canceling Its Series. Say Goodbye to Uncpoupled

In recent days, Netflix has dealt a crushing blow to fans of its original animated series, bidding farewell to both Inside Job and the beloved Dead Center: Paranormal Park.

But the streaming giant’s axe didn’t stop there, as the live-action series Uncoupled, helmed by the creator of Emily in Paris, Darren Star, and produced by the mastermind behind Modern Family, Jeffrey Richman, also met its untimely demise.

While the cancellation of the series starring the inimitable Neil Patrick Harris may not come as a shock, it’s still a disappointment for those who had invested their time and energy into the show.

Despite its star-studded pedigree, Uncoupled failed to capture the hearts and minds of viewers, debuting at a measly sixth place in the most popular English-language series of the week on Netflix, with a paltry 26.5 million hours of viewership.

And if that wasn’t bad enough, the series dropped out of the top ten the following week, leaving Netflix with no choice but to cut its losses and cancel the unprofitable production.

The creators of the beloved series “Uncoupled” were taken by surprise when they received word of Netflix’s decision to part ways at the tail end of the previous year.

Star and Richman, the masterminds behind the show, were left scrambling to find a new home for their beloved characters.

As fate would have it, both Paramount Global and Showtime had expressed interest in picking up the show, but unfortunately, after much negotiation and discussion, the deal with both companies fell through.

But all was not lost, as “Uncoupled” tells the story of the indomitable Michael Lawson, a man who is convinced that he has complete control over his life.

With a thriving career as a successful real estate agent, a loving family, cherished friends, and a partner, Colin, with whom he had spent the past 17 blissful years, Michael’s world is turned upside down when, on the eve of his 50th birthday, Colin makes the unexpected decision to leave.

Left to navigate being gay and alone in the bustling metropolis of New York City, Michael’s journey to rediscovering himself is one that is both heart-wrenching and inspiring.
