Sony and Beat Games have announced the arrival of Beat Saber on PlayStation VR2. The globally popular rhythm game, which is already available on PC and the first PS VR, sold more than 4 million copies and is regarded as one of the best virtual reality video games around.
Sony has announced the game’s release on its next-gen visor during CES 2022, although it did not specify whether it will be available from the Feb. 22 launch or only at a later date.
At Beat Saber, gamers use VR controllers to wield lightsabers, with which to literally “slash” a series of blocks that travel toward the user in time to the music.
Matches are one song long, and players must destroy as many blocks as possible without losing rhythm in order to earn points.

At the moment it is unclear whether the PS VR2 version will include any additional content, and how it will differ from that available on the first PS VR.
The PlayStation VR2 will be available from February 22 at a price of 599.99 euros, and can be pre-ordered right now.
Upon launch, the new VR headset will feature “more than 30 high-quality video games,” but we do not know whether Beat Saber is going to be among them. The launch, in fact, may even take place in the months to follow, or even next year.
Beat Saber is a virtual reality rhythm game developed and published by Beat Games in which the player slashes blocks representing musical beats with a pair of red and blue lightsabers.
The game features original music produced by the developers as well as licensed tracks, and has received praise for its gameplay and use of virtual reality.
Beat Saber is available for a number of VR platforms, including Oculus Quest, PlayStation VR, and SteamVR. In the game, players use the lightsabers to slice through blocks representing musical beats, with the direction and color of the blocks indicating the direction and hand that the player must use to slash them.
