Dead Island 2’s Violent Gameplay Video Reveals New Zombie Ripping System

Dead Island 2 has revealed some exciting new details about its gameplay through a recent interview with senior rendering programmer, Dan Evans-Lawes, and technical art director, James Worrall. The game will feature a unique Flesh system, which promises to make zombie fights even more intense and gruesome.

The Flesh system is a procedurally generated system of tearing skin and breaking bones, created using the game engine. As a result, the player’s attacks will realistically separate limbs from the zombie’s body.

To add to the challenge, different types of zombies will require different approaches. Some zombies may be vulnerable to blunt weapons, while others may be more susceptible to bladed weapons. This means that players will need to be well-prepared for each fight.

In addition to the Flesh system, Dead Island 2 will also introduce a new approach to character development, in the form of a deck of cards. This deck will allow players to change their special abilities at any time, adding a new level of strategy to the game.

According to Worrall, building the right deck and choosing the right equipment will be a risk that could pay off, but could also lead to disastrous results.

Dead Island 2 is set to be released on April 28, 2023, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

The game will take place in Los Angeles, where players can either face the zombie horde alone or team up with others. Get ready for an even more blood-pumping and thrilling experience with Dead Island 2.
