Did Sony Just Reveal Uncharted 5? The Trailer Has Sparked Speculation

A new Sony advertisement, designed to promote the release of the highly-anticipated PlayStation 5, has caused a stir among gamers. The “Live from PS5” video showcases various popular titles, such as God of War Ragnarok, Horizon, Gran Turismo, and the upcoming Final Fantasy 16, all presented as breaking news updates.

However, one particular segment has caught the attention of fans, as it appears to offer a sneak peek at a yet-to-be-announced production. The brief clip features a young woman exploring a cave with a torch in hand, who later blows the dust off a mysterious artifact.

The video has led many to speculate that it could be a first look at Uncharted 5, a popular action-adventure series developed by Naughty Dog.

However, the head of Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, stated recently that his studio has no plans to continue with the Uncharted franchise.

But, given the significance of the Uncharted series for Sony, it’s not entirely surprising if the company decides to pass the torch to another development studio.

There have been some indications that Uncharted may indeed be reset by another development studio. Last April, a recruiter, Christina-Marie Drake McBrearty, announced that she had joined a well-deserved studio where she would be looking for talent at every level, specifically mentioning her interest in “building future teams not only for new titles, but also for Uncharted’s legacy.” The Leak, an unofficial source, reported in December that Uncharted was being reset by another development studio.

As for the direction of Uncharted 5, the final installment of the series, Uncharted 4, showed Nathan and Elena’s teenage daughter, Cassie, discovering items her parents had accumulated over the years. So it’s possible that she could be the protagonist of the next installment of the adventures, which would align with the young woman depicted in the clip.
