The Elder Scrolls Online Is Getting a New Add-On: Necrom Is Coming

Bethesda has recently announced a new addition to its massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMO), The Elder Scrolls Online, titled Necrom. The expansion will transport players back to the mystical province of Morrowind, specifically to the eastern region of the Telvanni Peninsula.

One of the major features of this expansion is the introduction of a new character class, called the Arcanist. The Arcanist class comes equipped with three distinct skill trees, allowing players to tailor their gameplay experience to their liking.

The Arcanist class uses Runeblades, which are magical projectiles from the abyss, in combat and can also summon portals to assist in party mobility.

The Telvanni Peninsula is home to the powerful mages of House Telvanni, as well as the city of Necrom, which is the source of the expansion’s name.

This is the first time players will be able to explore the city in many years, as it previously only appeared in The Elder Scrolls Arena, the first installment of the series.

Players will also have the opportunity to visit the mysterious realm of Apocrypha, which is the dimension of the abyss ruled by the Daedric prince Hermaeus Mora. Both the Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha offer new quests, non-player characters (NPCs), side activities, and rewards for players to earn.

Additionally, the expansion introduces two new computer-controlled companions that players can recruit: the Redguard Azandar Al-Cybiades and the Argonian Sharp-as-Night.

Necrom’s storyline continues the threads from the Scribes of Fate expansion, in which the realm of Hermaeus Mora is under attack from an unknown invader, and the prince needs a champion to help defend against the threat. The story is arranged in a longer narrative, which the developers have described as the “Shadow over Morrowind.”

The Elder Scrolls Online Necrom is set to debut on June 20, 2023, and players can pre-order the expansion now. Those who pre-order from the Microsoft Store will receive immediate access to the Sandrith Mora Spore Steed mount and the Sandrith Mora Spore Pony pet, which is only available until April 18.
