There is good news for all fans of the MechWarrior series of mecha simulators from the BattleTech universe. Piranha Games CEO Russ Bullock announced that the next installment of the said series is already in production.

The studio head also shared the first information about the game, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the details.

Piranha Games CEO announced about the ongoing work on the new installment of the MechWarrior series in the NoGutsNoGalaxy podcast.

During the interview, Bullock also disclosed that the upcoming installment of the series would be similar to MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries and use the same technological solutions.

The developer, though, decided immediately to reassure fans of the MechWarrior series and assured that the upcoming installment would be a fully standalone production, rather than an add-on to the fifth installment of the series.

The production, meanwhile, is to offer both solo and co-op play. Bullock also assured that the game will come to “all platforms.”

As mentioned above, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for more details. For the official announcement of the next installment of the MechWarrior series is planned for late summer or autumn of this year. So fans of the series must arm themselves with patience.

Lastly, we should remind you that the last installment of the MechWarrior series, MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries debuted on the market in 2019.

The production of Piranha Games studio is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
