Escape From Tarkov Receives a New Map & a Major Update

After waiting for more than a year, Escape from Tarkov has finally received another server reset, and with it always comes a sizable update. This time, we got a very important novelty, which is the Streets of Tarkov map.

As its name suggests, you get a huge, urban location, full of stores, apartments, cafes, corners, cars and so on. There is even a cinema complex, and there is only one element missing, though quite important – frames per second. Let’s hope that the situation changes in this regard in the future.

Besides, a major change will probably be a thorough refresh of spatial sound propagation. The Steam Audio system is being replaced by Oculus Audio. There’s also a binaural audio option, but currently working moderately at best.

There’s no shortage of items. We’ll build a whole new room in the hideout (as long as we can find a special hammer to knock down the wall), make use of five stimulants, fire overhead grenade launchers, and shoot with Steyr AUGs in A1 and A3 variants.

There is also a Glock 19X, an RSH-12 revolver for the impressive 12.7×55 caliber, as well as an SR-2M “Veresk” 9×21 submachine gun.

There have also been important changes in the sphere of repairing weapons and armor. If you perform the action yourself – with special sets of parts and new skills – you can obtain bonus effects on items, like a lower chance of jamming or increased accuracy.
