Kojima Confirmed That Elle Fanning Will Play a Major Role in Death Stranding 2

Hideo Kojima’s highly anticipated new game, Death Stranding 2 (title under development), is still fresh in the minds of fans after its reveal at The Game Awards. The sequel to the PS4 classic, which you can find on Amazon for a great price, was officially announced by Kojima-san himself during the event.

His new project, which was teased in a trailer beforehand, looks set to be an incredible experience. After it was revealed that the game had been rewritten due to the pandemic, more information has come out about Elle Fanning’s character.

Elle Fanning, the 24-year-old actress from Georgia, USA, has been confirmed to appear in Kojima Productions’ upcoming game. Following the reveal of a mysterious poster titled “Who Am I?” in September, Fanning recently joined Hideo Kojima on his Brain Structure podcast to discuss her role in Death Stranding 2.

With credits including Maleficient, We Bought A Zoo and Mary Shelley, it seems that Kojima has been keeping an eye on Fanning’s career for some time – and now she will play a central part in his sequel.

Hideo Kojima has been a fan of Elle Fanning since she starred in JJ Abrams’ sci-fi film Super 8 in 2011. He was so impressed with her performance that he wanted to bring her on board for Death Stranding 2.

Kojima was able to make this happen thanks to his friendship with Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn, who directed Fanning in the 2016 thriller Neon Demon. After seeing her breakout role in Mary Shelley, Kojima knew that she had to be a part of Death Stranding 2.

Although there is no official release date yet, rumors suggest that the game could be released as early as 2024 and will be exclusive to PlayStation 5.
