Exciting news, strategy game enthusiasts! Firaxis, the talented developers behind the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Midnight Suns, are treating fans to the Redemption DLC, set to drop on February 23rd, 2023. And that’s not all, because the much-loved antihero, Venom, is joining the fray as a playable hero.
As with previous characters, players can expect a detailed gameplay video to showcase Venom’s abilities before release.
The developers have hinted that Venom’s special quirk, called “Ravenous,” serves as the character’s resource. Each charge increases basic attacks by a whopping 17 percent, and with three charges at the start of each fight, the potential for a quick burst of damage is huge.
But that’s not all – the developers have promised even more exciting upgrades for Venom. Upgrading the map will increase damage to targets below full health, and spending time with Eddie Brock, Venom’s alter ego, will strengthen his passive ability, “We Are Venom.”
At level 1, there is a 25% chance that Ravenous charges will not be consumed when playing Venom attack cards, but at level 2, the first attack card played by Venom won’t consume any corresponding charges.
And for players who just can’t get enough of Venom, the “Insatiable Hunger” ability provides an immediate “Ravenous” charge and another at the beginning of the next turn. So, get ready to sink your teeth into the Redemption DLC and unleash Venom’s powers on your foes.
