Could Bandai Namco be preparing to announce the release date for Tekken 8? The Japanese gaming giant has recently picked up the pace in unveiling the fighters set to appear in the latest installment, with Ling Xiaoyu being the latest character to have her abilities showcased.
In early February, Bandai Namco began releasing trailers highlighting the skills of various Tekken 8 fighters. Recently, however, the company has increased the frequency of these character presentations.
With Nina, Kazuya, Jin, Paul, Law, King, Lars, Jack-8, and Jun Kazama already receiving their own gameplay trailers, it is now Ling Xiaoyu’s turn to shine.
The Chinese fighter made her first appearance in Tekken 3 and quickly became an icon of the franchise. As a student at Mishima High School in Japan and a close friend of Jin Kazama and Miharu Hirano, Ling Xiaoyu garnered a dedicated fan base eager to explore her unique abilities.
An interesting fact about Ling Xiaoyu is that, despite being originally from China, she speaks only Japanese. This can be attributed to her life in Japan and her immersion in the country’s culture.
Ling Xiaoyu has been featured in four main installments of the Tekken series thus far, as well as in all spin-off games set within the Tekken universe.
With her confirmed appearance in Tekken 8, fans can look forward to witnessing her combat prowess once again as the excitement for the game’s release continues to build.
