Sauron’s Plans Unveiled? Rings of Power Season 2 May See an Attack on the Elves

New images suggest a possible storyline for the second season of Amazon's fantasy series.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

The second season of Amazon’s highly anticipated fantasy series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, is not expected to air until 2024.

However, the Fellowship of Fans folks on Twitter (@FellowshipFans) have been keeping fans informed with some new images that may provide clues to the show’s storyline.

Recently, drone footage was released from a film location near Reading, believed to be Swinley Forest. The footage shows the walls of a fortress, catapults, ladders, and even life-size dolls that are likely dead bodies. From these images, it appears that Sauron may already be planning an attack on the elves in season 2.

Earlier this year, images of a set being built at Bray Studios surfaced, which most fans attribute to the Elves of Eregion. Combined with the new images, it seems likely that the fortress is an Elven stronghold that Sauron is targeting. However, it is also possible that the fortress belongs to humans in the south of Middle-earth.

Despite the lack of official information, fans are eagerly speculating about the potential plotlines. Will the siege of the fortress be a major event in the series?

How will the showrunners portray the battle between Sauron’s forces and the elves or humans? And what will the end product be like after post-production magic has been cast?

It remains to be seen how much these new images reveal about the upcoming season of The Rings of Power, but they have certainly given fans something to think about.

With the series not expected to air for another year, fans will have to continue to rely on unofficial sources for news and updates. Nonetheless, the anticipation continues to grow as fans eagerly await the next chapter in the epic fantasy saga.
