Remedy CEO Confirms Alan Wake 2 in Final Production Stage

In exciting news for gamers, Remedy Entertainment’s CEO, Tero Virtala, recently shared an update on the studio’s current activities during the first quarter of 2023.

The most significant reveal was that Alan Wake 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2010 psychological horror game, has entered the final stage of production and is on track for release later this year.

Virtala praised the team’s efficient work and the quality of the game, expressing confidence that it will live up to players’ expectations. “Alan Wake 2 will be a game we’ll all be proud of, and most importantly, I’m sure it’ll be a game players will love to play,” he said.

Alongside Alan Wake 2, Remedy is also working on several other projects, including Control 2, a sequel to the successful 2019 shooter.

Virtala revealed that Control 2 left the concept phase in January, and a spin-off called Condor will accompany its release. Condor is set to be a multiplayer game based on the Control universe.

Fans of the Max Payne series will be pleased to hear that Remedy is also developing remakes of the first two games. The studio has already progressed beyond the concept phase, and the team is implementing modernized versions of the original games’ successful solutions. Virtala confirmed that the remakes will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Lastly, Remedy has a project in the concept phase called Vanguard, which is planned to be a free co-op game. As the studio ramps up work on its various projects, it will add new team members to complete the tasks as needed.
