Torchlight: Infinite to be Released in May, Outpacing Diablo 4

New Character Class and Major Updates Await Players.

Torchlight: Infinite

Torchlight: Infinite, a popular free-to-play game, will be fully released on May 9th, with major updates coming to PC and mobile platforms.

Developed by XD Games from Shanghai, the game was released in October last year and has garnered “very positive” ratings on Steam despite being primarily designed for Android and iOS devices.

The upcoming release will mark the end of the game’s early access period and will introduce a new season called Cube of Rapacity.

This season will bring significant changes to the game’s loot find and crafting systems, as well as the addition of a new character class called Escapist Bing.

Described as an unpredictable brawler, Escapist Bing will add some serious explosions to the game’s character roster by using a blinding veil of bombs to deceive enemies. In addition to this, the update will also include further optimizations for Steam Decks.

Torchlight: Infinite’s colorful and lighthearted approach has always set it apart from other games in the genre. The game’s publisher, Perfect World, revived the series with Torchlight 3 in 2020, developed by Echtra Games. While the game was initially intended to be free, criticism from fans prompted the developers to add a price tag.

Despite the mixed reception of Torchlight 3, the upcoming release of Torchlight: Infinite is generating excitement among fans of the series.

David Brevik, one of the creators of Diablo, is even serving as a producer for the game. With its upcoming release, Torchlight: Infinite looks poised to outpace the highly anticipated Diablo 4.
