In a somewhat playful turn of events, Microsoft has gently drawn attention to the reality that several of the much-anticipated games featured at the recent PlayStation Showcase will also be making their way to Xbox Series X/S.
Big Names Heading to Xbox Series X/S
High-profile games like the MGS3 remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta, Bungie’s fresh venture, Marathon, Alan Wake 2, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and Dragon’s Dogma 2 did not display Xbox logos during their trailers at Sony’s event. However, as Microsoft highlighted via a well-timed tweet, all of these exciting titles are destined for the Xbox platform.
This tweet, shared right after the conclusion of Sony’s show, was an amusing nod from Microsoft, reminding gamers that a significant portion of the PlayStation Showcase will indeed be accessible on alternative platforms.
In addition to the above-mentioned titles, other games that caught the spotlight during the PlayStation Showcase will also grace the Xbox platform.
EA-published magic first-person shooter, Immortals of Aveum, Ghostrunner 2, the vibrant indie game, The Plucky Squire, voxel destruction game Teardown, Cat Quest: Pirates of the Purribean, and The Talos Principle 2, will all be launching on Xbox. So will Neva, the forthcoming project from the creator of Gris.
However, there are a few titles from the PlayStation Showcase that won’t be making the cross-platform leap. These include the vibrant heist shooter, Fairgame$, from the newly inducted PlayStation Studios member, Haven.
The sequel to the popular cooperative shooter game, Helldivers 2, looks to be a PlayStation exclusive as well, along with the high-profile console exclusive, Final Fantasy 16 from Square Enix. Square Enix’s Splatoon-esque game, Foamstars, and the anticipated sequel to the superhero action game, Spider-Man 2, also appear to be solely for the PlayStation audience.
