Witcher Season 4: Rumors Point to Major Hollywood Star in a Key Role

As Witcher anticipates its fourth season, whispers suggest a notable Hollywood star could embody fan-favorite character, Regis.

Season 4 of the acclaimed Netflix series “The Witcher” might be adding some extra Hollywood glamour to its ensemble cast. Reports are swirling about the potential inclusion of a renowned actor to portray a beloved character from both the game and book versions of The Witcher saga.

According to the sources at Redanian Intelligence, Netflix is on the hunt for an accomplished “Hollywood star in his late 50s or 60s” to take on the role of Regis, the intriguing vampire barber-surgeon.

Fans will recognize Regis as Geralt’s trusted confidant from several novels and the popular Blood and Wine DLC in the gaming series.

A Hint at Future Seasons and Adaptations

This latest rumor also indirectly indicates the narrative direction for the series following season 3. With season 3 adapting “Time of Contempt”, the third book in Andrzej Sapkowski’s gripping series, the introduction of Regis suggests the fourth season may adapt “Baptism of Fire”, the next novel in line.

However, if these rumors turn out to be true, it appears that Henry Cavill will not reprise his role as Geralt in the prospective adaptation. Liam Hemsworth is slated to assume the mantle of The White Wolf from the fourth season onwards, and there are already murmurs about a potential fifth season.

Life After Cavill: The Witcher Continues

Despite Cavill’s exit, series creator Lauren Schmidt Hissrich has expressed her unwillingness to wrap up the series prematurely. She told Total Film magazine, “We had the choice to have Geralt exit and to end the show. [But] that’s not something that we were willing to do. There’s just too many stories left to tell.”

Hissrich emphasized that deviating too far from the books, such as replacing Geralt with another Witcher, was not a desirable option either.

So it seems “The Witcher” series is determined to stay true to its roots, aiming to narrate Geralt’s complete story, which might even entail a fascinating journey to Toussaint.

As we anticipate these possible developments, the much-awaited season 3 of “The Witcher” is set to make its debut soon. Volume 1 will premiere on June 29, followed by Volume 2 on July 27.
