The Sims 4’s Horse Ranch Expansion: A Nightmare of Glitches Unleashed

The latest expansion pack introduces unsettling glitches and eerie horse mutations in The Sims 4.

The Sims 4 Horse Ranch

EA’s latest expansion pack for The Sims 4, called Horse Ranch, galloped into the gaming world on July 20. However, players soon found themselves wrangling with an array of disturbing bugs that have been haunting the pack since its preview phase.

Mutated Horses and Equine Cryptids

On July 19, YouTuber onlyabidoang stumbled upon a hair-raising glitch where aging up a newborn foal resulted in it fusing to its human rider. The result? A nightmarish creature walking on two legs with its head turned backward, resembling some bizarre glued-together, equine cryptid. Despite the unsettling visuals, the awkward-looking creature appeared surprisingly relaxed in its peculiar state.

The eerie glitch, highlighted by onlyabidoang, somehow managed to evade correction and made its way into the official release of the expansion. Disappointed players on TikTok discovered that their Horse Ranch pets were anything but cute.

Instead, they were met with horses sporting their adorable heads in a spine-chilling reversed position. Some unfortunate horses even had extra hooves sprouting from their limp legs.

Players expressed their disappointment and disbelief in the comments section of TikTok videos showcasing the glitches. Many were incredulous that the bug was not addressed despite being discussed during the preview phase. Some players humorously suggested that the Sims crew allows glitches to linger for the sake of producing hilarious videos, eventually fixing them in future updates.

An Ongoing Struggle for Perfection

The Sims 4, which was released in 2014, has seen almost a decade of development and official expansions from Maxis. However, this ongoing effort to enhance the game’s experience has not prevented the emergence of various glitches.

Prior to the horse glitch, Sims players have encountered other peculiar bugs, such as babies turning into Slenderman-like figures and attractive characters inexplicably becoming unattractive.

EA has yet to address the majority of the bugs affecting the Horse Ranch expansion. While they did recently fix a missing text issue in the add-on, players are eagerly awaiting updates to rectify the alarming glitches that have taken their equine adventures to a whole new level of horror.

The Sims community remains hopeful that EA will address these issues promptly to restore the charming and whimsical gameplay they’ve come to love, minus the spine-tingling surprises.
