Great news for all the Final Fantasy enthusiasts out there! The popular PlayStation 5 exclusive, Final Fantasy 16, is set to make its way to PC, according to an announcement by producer Naoki Yoshida. Additionally, there’s more excitement on the horizon with the revelation of two paid story DLCs for this Square Enix role-playing masterpiece.

The surprise announcement was made during a Final Fantasy panel at the PAX West gaming convention. Yoshida shared the exciting news through a brief video message, sparking a wave of anticipation among fans.

Update 1.10 Brings Customization

In addition to these major developments, the game has received update 1.10, introducing new customization options. Among these features is a weapon skin option, allowing players to change the appearance of their equipped weapon while keeping its stats intact.

Moreover, fans can look forward to a selection of fresh outfits for characters like Clive, Jill, Torgal, Ambrosia, and Joshua. As a special treat, every player will receive the iconic onion sword, a beloved weapon from Final Fantasy 3. The update also brings balance adjustments and additional control customization choices.

But that’s not all! The musical spinoff, Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, is gearing up to deliver a suite of songs from Final Fantasy 16, adding another layer of excitement to the Final Fantasy universe.

More Details on the Way

While the PC version and story expansions for Final Fantasy 16 remain shrouded in mystery, Yoshida assured fans that more information would be unveiled before the year’s end. He acknowledged player feedback, stating, “One thing that came through particularly strongly was how people wanted to see more of Valisthea’s story and spend more time with her inhabitants. To accommodate, the development team has started work on two installments of paid DLC.”

Square Enix’s initial announcement in 2020 had hinted at a PC version, but it was swiftly removed from trailers, with the game being touted as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. Now, the PC version is officially confirmed, as Yoshida declared, “Allow me to take this opportunity to officially announce that development on a PC version is currently underway. I hope to be able to give you more information on both the upcoming DLC and the PC version before the end of the year, so please stay tuned.”

Final Fantasy fans have plenty to look forward to, with new content and platforms expanding the epic adventure of Final Fantasy 16.
