Xbox’s September Update: Exciting Features Now Accessible to All Users

Microsoft's September update for Xbox introduces Discord streaming and enhanced voice chat reporting, among other exciting features.

Microsoft’s September Update for Xbox is set to roll out this week, extending its array of features to all users. These features were previously exclusive to Xbox Insiders, and they include direct Xbox voice reporting and the capability to stream gameplay from Xbox One and Series X/S directly to Discord.

For those keen on sharing their gaming experiences, the first step is to link their Discord account to their console. Once that’s done, they can choose the ‘Discord’ option from the ‘Parties & chats’ section in the guide. From there, they can select a server and effortlessly share their gameplay after joining a voice channel with friends.

Xbox voice reporting, another notable feature that initially debuted with Xbox Insiders, allows players to capture a 60-second video clip of any in-game voice incident they believe breaches Xbox Community Standards. They can then submit this clip as evidence for review.

Enhancements for Xbox Series X/S

Xbox Game Pass

The September update brings new Variable Refresh Rate options to Xbox Series X/S. Users can now choose between “Always On,” “Gaming Only,” or “Off” settings in the console’s ‘General > TV & display options > Video’ menu. Additionally, there’s a new My Rewards tab on Xbox, making it easier for users to keep track of their rewards.

Xbox now offers a simpler method for pairing accessories through the Xbox Accessories app and the ‘Connect a Device’ option. Users also gain new wish list settings, allowing them to enable notifications for releases, discounts, or appearances on Game Pass for items on their wish list.

Exciting Updates for PC

On the PC side, Microsoft has enhanced the Xbox app with new features and improved performance. Game details pages load faster, and the app sports new fonts, button styles, and animations.

The Library receives updates, including filters for Installed, Owned, and In Game Pass titles. A collapsible Play Later list and a consolidated settings menu for the Installation queue complete the package.

Microsoft’s September Update for Xbox aims to make gaming more interactive and enjoyable for all users. With Discord streaming, improved reporting, and other enhancements, players have even more tools at their disposal to enhance their gaming experience.
