Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Fans of the Prince of Persia series have been eagerly awaiting the return of this iconic franchise, and with “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown,” Ubisoft is shaking things up with a 2.5D Metroidvania-style adventure.

While it’s been more than a decade since the last major entry in the series, the gameplay shift promises a fresh and exciting experience for players. Unlike the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake, the release date for this new installment was disclosed from the beginning.

In “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown,” players will step into the shoes of a new character named Sargon as the titular Prince has been kidnapped. Sargon, accompanied by his Immortal comrades, embarks on a quest to rescue the Prince while exploring a mysterious new land, engaging in platforming challenges, and battling mythical creatures, such as the formidable Manticore.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Release Date: The highly anticipated release date for “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” is set for Thursday, January 18, 2024. However, players who opt for the Deluxe Edition will enjoy early access, starting on Monday, January 15, 2024. This exciting revelation was made during the Ubisoft Forward 2023 presentation, building anticipation for the game’s launch.

The game will be available on various platforms, including PC via Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The Deluxe Edition offers additional perks, such as the Immortals outfit and a Prosperity Bird Amulet to aid in discovering hidden treasures.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Trailers: While the majority of “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” trailers have focused on gameplay, an animated trailer has showcased some of the formidable bosses that players will confront.

These include the Jahandar, a multi-headed Manticore-like beast, the Elrik, a colossal boar with a leafy mane, and a sentient statue. The game’s Metroidvania-style gameplay was initially teased on June 8, followed by a detailed trailer providing insight into the storyline and gameplay mechanics.

Sargon, on his mission to rescue the Prince, traverses a mountain where time appears to bend and warp, leading to unique challenges. Sargon boasts an array of abilities, such as wall-running to reach elevated platforms, using a bow and arrow to create pathways, and executing devastating multi-hit combos that result in brutal takedowns.

With the promise of more abilities on the horizon, “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” is shaping up to be a thrilling addition to the beloved series.
