For those opting for the PS5 Digital Edition initially, the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive can be separately purchased for $79.99, €119.99, £99.99, or ¥11,980, making it a convenient choice for those who may later desire the option to play physical game discs.
Despite its smaller form factor, the PS5 Slim incorporates the same cutting-edge technology as its predecessor, ensuring that gamers can enjoy the same high-quality gaming experiences. Impressively, Sony has managed to reduce the volume of the console by over 30% and trim its weight by 18% and 24%, all without compromising performance.
Sony has revealed plans to gradually roll out the new PS5 model globally in the months following its November launch. Once existing inventory of the current PS5 model has been depleted, the PS5 Slim will become the exclusive offering from the company.
As for pricing, Sony has ensured that gamers have a variety of choices. In early 2024, a range of PS5 Console Cover colors will be made available for the new model.
