Fred Armisen, known for his versatile comedic roles, is slated to bring Uncle Fester to life in this new venture. His involvement in the Addams Family universe was first teased in October 2022 through a trailer for “Wednesday.”
Armisen, who gained fame through shows like “Saturday Night Live” and “Portlandia,” is no stranger to diverse and eccentric characters. His recent television credits include appearances in “Barry,” “What We Do in the Shadows,” and “Los Espookys,” showcasing his range in both comedy and more nuanced roles.
Uncle Fester, a character immortalized by Jackie Coogan in the original “Addams Family” series and later by Christopher Lloyd in the 1991 and 1993 feature films, is known for his quirky and endearing personality. Armisen’s portrayal of Uncle Fester in the seventh episode of “Wednesday” was met with enthusiasm, as he expressed a personal connection and excitement for the role.
