Emergency Meeting: A New Chapter in Indie Gaming

A Playful DLC Blend and Exciting New Adventures in Vampire Survivors.

In a surprising and playful twist in the indie gaming world, “Vampire Survivors,” the reverse bullet hell sensation, has announced a crossover DLC with the social deduction game “Among Us.”

This unique collaboration, titled “Emergency Meeting,” is set to release on December 18th for PC and Xbox, with versions for Switch and mobile platforms to follow soon.

“Emergency Meeting” promises to add an intriguing twist to the vampire hunting adventure of “Vampire Survivors.” The DLC draws inspiration from “Among Us,” integrating Crewmates, new weapons, power-ups, and a specially designed stage into the game’s universe.

This crossover merges the essence of two indie gaming successes, creating what could be described as a ‘weird baby’ of 2020’s and 2022’s biggest indie hits.

The DLC is not just a nod to “Among Us” but an expansion in its own right, featuring nine new characters, fifteen weapons, a unique stage, twenty unlocks, and a bespoke Adventure. Priced at £1.99 / $2.49 / €2.49, it offers a substantial addition to the game at a cost that’s refreshingly modest compared to other games’ DLC pricing.

Adventures Update: A New Spin on the Gameplay

In addition to the upcoming DLC, “Vampire Survivors” has also rolled out its “Adventures” update across all platforms. This free content update remixes the game by introducing mini-adventures, offering new storylines and progression paths for different characters.

These mini-adventures allow players to experience a sense of starting anew while retaining their main game unlocks, adding depth and variety to the gameplay.

Currently, the update includes two free Adventures for all players, with an additional tale for the “Legacy of the Moonspell” DLC and another planned for the “Emergency Meeting” DLC.

“Vampire Survivors” has enjoyed significant popularity since its early access phase, eventually making a successful full release on PC and Xbox. Its unique approach to the bullet hell genre, combined with its quirky visuals, engaging gameplay, and humorous tone, has resonated with players.

The game’s acclaim was cemented when it won the Best Game award at the 2023 BAFTA Games Awards, triumphing over big-budget titles like “God of War: Ragnarök.”
