Ace Combat 7 Soars onto Nintendo Switch with a Loaded Deluxe Edition

Bandai Namco's Acclaimed Flight Combat Game Debuts on Switch with Exclusive Content and Features.

Bandai Namco has announced an exciting development for fans of aerial combat games: ‘Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition‘ is set to land on the Nintendo Switch on July 11. This marks the first time the cult-favorite series will be available on Nintendo’s popular hybrid console, bringing its high-flying action and immersive gameplay to a new platform.

The Deluxe Edition of ‘Ace Combat 7’ for Switch is not just a mere port; it’s a comprehensive package that includes all the original content, ensuring that the essence and thrill of the game are perfectly captured. Players can look forward to the full base game along with six DLC packs that add to the depth and variety of the experience. These packs include three original aircraft sets, three single-player missions, and additional bonuses:

Additionally, the Switch version will feature a Bonus Music Player Mode, Playable Aircraft F-104C – Avril, Playable Aircraft F-4E Phantom II, three aircraft skins from past entries, and eight emblems from previous games in the series. This robust content ensures that both newcomers and series veterans will find plenty to enjoy.

‘Ace Combat 7’ initially launched in 2020 to positive reviews, praised for its engaging flight combat and high-quality visuals. While the game was well-received, it was noted that the story and mission communication could be improved. Despite these criticisms, the game sold over 5 million units across the PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC platforms.

The Switch, with its less powerful hardware compared to other consoles like the PS4, has faced challenges in porting games. To address potential concerns about performance and quality, Bandai Namco released a trailer offering a side-by-side comparison of the Switch and PS4 versions. The trailer suggests that while there may be some differences in environmental details, the core gaming experience remains intact.

While there has been no news on a new entry in the ‘Ace Combat’ series, Bandai Namco has indicated that additional DLC, not included in the Deluxe Edition, will be available for purchase after the July 11 launch. This promise of ongoing support and content suggests a commitment to maintaining the game’s vitality and appeal.
