Deep Sleep Awaits in Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 with New Foe CatNap

Set for release next week, Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 promises a larger, scarier experience with the debut of its newest antagonist, CatNap.

The eagerly anticipated third chapter of the horror game series, Poppy Playtime, is about to make its spine-chilling debut next week. Titled “Deep Sleep,” this latest installment introduces a new and menacing antagonist, CatNap, to the already terrifying world of Poppy Playtime.

Scheduled to launch on Steam on January 31st, “Deep Sleep” promises to escalate the eerie atmosphere and narrative complexity of the series. While there’s no confirmation yet on its availability on other platforms, the release on Steam marks a significant milestone for the series. The third chapter was originally planned for a December release but has since been pushed back to ensure a more refined and impactful gaming experience.

Introducing CatNap and Darker Twists

CatNap, the newly revealed antagonist, is depicted as a giant fluffy cat with a sinister twist. True to its name, CatNap has the ability to put players to sleep, but not in the comforting way one might expect from a cuddly feline. The new trailer teases the full reveal of this daunting character, adding another layer of horror to the Poppy Playtime universe.

In Chapter 3, players will venture into the decrepit orphanage Playcare for the first time in the series. This new setting is expected to be larger and more frightening than the previous games, offering a fresh and daunting landscape for players to explore.

According to Zach Belanger, co-founder and CEO of developer Mob Entertainment, this chapter is packed with sinister twists and turns. Belanger also hints at the resolution of some mysteries that have lingered since Chapter 2, while simultaneously raising new questions for players to ponder.

Expanding Gameplay with New Challenges

Alongside facing CatNap, players will encounter The Smiling Critters and will have access to new hand abilities to navigate the challenges of the abandoned toy factory. This expansion of gameplay elements is set to deepen the immersive experience of the series.

Poppy Playtime has gained significant popularity for its blend of childlike settings with bone-chilling horror elements, particularly with its iconic antagonist Huggy Wuggy. The previous two chapters have expanded their reach to Switch and PlayStation platforms as of December last year, attracting a broad audience of horror game enthusiasts.
