Warzone and MW3 Level Up with AMD’s FSR 3 Upgrade

Advanced FSR 3 Technology Brings Enhanced Performance to Popular FPS Titles.

After a period of anticipation, AMD has unveiled a significant upgrade for two of the most popular first-person shooters (FPS) in the gaming world: Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare 3. The introduction of AMD’s FSR 3 technology brings a substantial performance boost to these titles, enhancing the gaming experience for players across various setups, especially for those with compatible GPUs.

The integration of AMD’s FSR 3 (FidelityFX Super Resolution 3) technology in Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 is a game-changer for players who seek optimal performance without the need for high-end hardware. This technology, which facilitates upscaling and frame generation, is especially beneficial in these competitive FPS games where every frame can make a difference.

With FSR 3, players don’t necessarily require the most powerful graphics cards to enjoy smoother gameplay. The technology is designed to work with a range of GPUs, making higher frame rates more accessible to a broader audience.

Compatibility and Recommendations

For AMD graphics card users, FSR 3 upscaling is achievable with the Radeon RX 590 series and above, with optimal performance on the RX 5000 series or newer. Nvidia card owners aren’t left out, as FSR 3 also supports Nvidia cards starting from the GTX 10 series, with the RTX 20 series and above being the recommended benchmark for best performance.

A significant advantage of AMD’s FSR 3 technology is its compatibility across different brands of GPUs. Unlike Nvidia’s DLSS, which relies on Tensor cores exclusive to RTX cards, FSR 3 can be utilized by a wider range of graphics cards, including those from Nvidia.

For full support of both upscaling and frame generation, AMD recommends using Radeon RX 6000 series or above. Similarly, for Nvidia users, the RTX 30 series and above are recommended for optimal utilization of FSR 3 technology.

Expanding the FSR 3 Game Library

Call of Duty Warzone 2

The inclusion of Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 expands the list of FSR 3 supported games to seven, joining titles like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Forspoken, Immortals of Aveum, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, and MotorCubs RC.

However, the current list of FSR 3-compatible games remains relatively small. This limitation is primarily due to the requirement for developers to integrate the technology directly into their games. AMD aims to address this with the upcoming release of Fluid Motion Frames, a new feature that promises performance improvements without needing developer integration, although it will be exclusive to AMD components.
