The whimsical life simulation game Disney Dreamlight Valley is receiving a monstrous new update this week. On February 28th, the free Laugh Floor Update will introduce iconic characters Mike Wazowski and James P. “Sulley” Sullivan from Pixar’s hit movie Monsters, Inc. into the enchanted village.
Exploring Monstropolis
The highlight of the update is the new Monstropolis Realm allowing players to experience a day in the life at the Monsters, Inc. factory. After completing the realm, Mike and Sulley become available as villagers with special friendship quests to further explore their world.
Gameloft, the developer behind Disney Dreamlight Valley, detailed everything coming in the substantial update. Along with the Monsters, Inc. content, players can expect expanded customization options like new skin tones, eye colors, and ear shapes for their avatars. Scrooge McDuck’s shop will feature more daily items, and doors make their return for placement around the valley.
Two free gifts—a statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse and a new armor outfit—will be granted to all players once the update is live. The Laugh Floor Update also adds the Lovely Monsters seasonal Star Path with unlockable rewards. Additional items will be available for purchase in the Premium Shop as well.
Continuing 2024’s Content Roadmap
This represents the first major update since the game’s full launch in December 2022, which came with the paid A Rift in Time expansion. Disney Dreamlight Valley plans to add more iconic Disney characters and realms throughout 2024. Daisy Duck arrives this spring alongside a Mulan-themed realm. Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog will join the village in the summer.
With the Laugh Floor Update, Disney fans can look forward to even more beloved characters and locations brought to life in the whimsical Dreamlight Valley. Exploring the world of Monsters, Inc. through special quests and interactions should be a monstrous good time.
