Lego and Fortnite Team Up to Offer More Family-Friendly Game Modes

Whimsical Pirate and Obstacle Course Levels Provide Family-Friendly Alternatives to Battle Royale.

LEGO Fortnite

The blockbuster online multiplayer game Fortnite continues to expand its family-friendly offerings through an ongoing collaboration with Lego. New Lego-themed islands allow players to enjoy lighthearted survival and obstacle course challenges built entirely out of virtual bricks.

The first two Lego game modes introduced are Lego Raft Survival and Lego Obby Fun. In Raft Survival, players embark on a pirate adventure, collecting resources to build rafts and defend against enemy ships manned by Lego minifigures. Obby Fun is Fortnite’s first official Lego obstacle course, with over 300 platforming levels designed by Lego’s own creators.

These additions provide kid-friendly alternatives to Fortnite’s signature Battle Royale mode. By utilizing Fortnite’s powerful Unreal Editor tools, the Lego islands allow up to 9 players to cooperate in overcoming silly obstacles and battling cartoonish pirates.

The Lego partnership aims to bring Fortnite to a broader audience beyond its core teenage demographic. While pop culture crossovers with Lady Gaga and Avatar keep older players engaged, the colorful charm and creativity of Lego offers wholesome fun for families and young kids.

More Lego islands are planned throughout 2023 and beyond. For players tiring of the competitive scene, the lighthearted hijinks of smashing virtual bricks and minifigure battles open new ways to enjoy Fortnite with friends and family. The Lego collaboration continues Fortnite’s push to diversify gameplay and shed its reputation as an addictive teen shooter.
