Sons of the Forest 1.0 Launch Trailer Teases Cannibal Horrors

Polished Cannibal Horror Soon Exits Early Access.

Sons Of The Forest

The nightmarish survival horror experience Sons of the Forest is nearing the light at the end of the Early Access tunnel, with version 1.0 set to launch on February 22, 2023. Developers Endnight Games have released a trailer previewing the polished cannibal-filled landscape players can explore next week.

Sons of the Forest has spent nearly a year in Early Access allowing the developers to refine and enhance the open-world survival mechanics while incorporating player feedback. The 1.0 release date was announced last November, signaling the end of major content updates as Endnight focused on preparing a complete experience.

The new trailer highlights some of these additions, like GPS mapping on vehicles and launching hang gliders from the ground. But experienced players will need to watch closely to spot the differences, as much of the world remains chillingly familiar. Grotesque cannibal mutants still haunt the forest, eager to make you their next meal.

Spotting the Changes in the New Trailer

Our own Ollie found merit in the game’s terrifying atmosphere during Early Access, despite lingering issues with mechanics and overall depth. With the story left vague and the world often feeling hollow, here’s hoping the additional development time has allowed Endnight to deliver more satisfying exploration and unraveling of mysteries for 1.0.

For those craving a tense, ghastly survival challenge, Sons of the Forest’s long-awaited full release next week should open up a polished, petrifying playground. Just mind your step, as the locals can be rather hostile to outsiders. The nightmarish wait in Early Access nears its end.
