‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ Adds Rising Stars to Lead Roles

Stargirl's Brec Bassinger, Chucky's Teo Briones Among Young Ensemble for Horror Reboot

Final Destination Bloodlines cast

After lying dormant for over a decade, the hit horror franchise Final Destination is being revived with the upcoming film Final Destination: Bloodlines. As production gets underway in Vancouver, the lead cast has now been set, comprised primarily of fresh young talent.

Headlining the new ensemble are Brec Bassinger (Stargirl), Kaitlyn Santa Juana (The Friendship Game), and Teo Briones, best known for playing Junior Wheeler in season one of the Chucky TV series. They join previously announced co-stars Richard Harmon (The 100), Anna Lore, Owen Patrick Joyner, Max Lloyd-Jones (The Book of Boba Fett), Rya Kihlstedt (Obi-Wan Kenobi), and Tinpo Lee (The Manor).

Plot details remain tightly under wraps, but franchise creator Jeffrey Reddick has teased that Bloodlines will explore the supernatural mythology in a unique new way. “It kind of unearths a whole deep layer to the story that makes it really, really interesting,” he cryptically revealed in an interview last year.

The new film is directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, from a script by Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick. Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts is producing alongside genre veterans Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, and Dianne McGunigle.

Final Destination: Bloodlines marks the sixth installment in the highly popular horror series, which centers on groups of young people who narrowly avoid deadly accidents only to be hunted by the supernatural force of Death itself. The original 2000 film became a cultural phenomenon and spawned four successful sequels through 2011.

With filming now underway, New Line Cinema is targeting a 2025 release to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the original groundbreaking movie that kicked off the franchise. Horror fans are undoubtedly eager to see if this new ensemble can bring the same thrills and chills that made Final Destination a modern classic.
