Star-Studded Cast Revealed for Highly Anticipated ‘Among Us’ Animated Series

Randall Park, Yvette Nicole Brown, Elijah Wood and Ashley Johnson to lead adaptation of popular video game

The upcoming animated series based on the wildly popular mobile game ‘Among Us’ has revealed its star-studded voice cast lineup. According to reports from Variety, CBS Studios has tapped Randall Park, Yvette Nicole Brown, Elijah Wood, and Ashley Johnson to bring the beloved characters to life.

Park, best known for ‘Fresh Off the Boat’ and ‘Always Be My Maybe,’ will voice the role of ‘Red’ – the captain of the spaceship The Skeld. His character is described as a “people-pleaser” and “blowhard” who “failed upwards” into a leadership position.

Brown, who starred in hit sitcoms ‘Community’ and ‘The Odd Couple,’ is set to play ‘Orange’ – the soulless corporate HR rep whose job is to “eliminate redundancy, redundantly.” Her character summary hints at a workplace comedy element to the show.

From the epic ‘Lord of the Rings’ film trilogy, Elijah Wood joins the cast as ‘Green’ – an enthusiastic but unpaid intern, simply “happy to be there” and compensated in pizza.

Rounding out the main quartet is Ashley Johnson, the acclaimed voice actor from ‘The Last of Us’ and ‘Blindspot,’ who will portray ‘Purple’ – the ship’s suspicious, sarcastic chief of security burdened with “trust issues.”

The ‘Among Us’ animated series, which Variety first reported as in development last June, hails from CBS Eye Animation Productions and indie game studio Innersloth. Its premise will follow the core concept of the online multiplayer game, in which players must root out impostors intent on sabotaging a spacecraft and killing off the crew.

Titmouse, the animation company behind hits like ‘Big Mouth’ and ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks,’ has been tapped to bring the bright, cartoonish world of ‘Among Us’ to life. Owen Dennis (‘Infinity Train’) is on board as creator and executive producer under an overall deal with CBS Studios.

While no network or streaming home has been announced yet, the impressive comedic talent assembled has raised anticipation for how the series might expand on the simple gameplay premise with workplace humor and rich character dynamics.

As details remain tightly under wraps, fans of the original viral gaming phenomenon can surely look forward to the animated adaptation delivering plenty of tragedy, betrayal, and impostors faking tasks when it eventually arrives on the small screen.
