Fans of the Fallout video game franchise have an extra reason to celebrate, as Amazon’s highly anticipated television adaptation is set to debut even sooner than expected.
In a surprise announcement, Prime Video has revealed that the Fallout series will now premiere all eight episodes on April 10th, a full day earlier than its previously scheduled release. The news was shared by actor Walton Goggins, who portrays the enigmatic character known as “The Ghoul” in the series.
“Fallout has been beloved for over 25 years and as a thank you to all the fans out there, we’re giving you the show early. All of it,” Goggins said in a special video message.
The early drop will see the Fallout series arrive at 6pm PT on April 10th, or 9pm ET and 2am BST on April 11th for international viewers. Prime Video is also hosting a special fan premiere event at the same time, allowing audiences to engage with other enthusiasts and even choose their preferred faction within the Fallout universe.
Based on one of the most acclaimed video game franchises of all time, the Fallout TV series follows the story of Lucy, played by Ella Purnell, as she navigates the treacherous wasteland 219 years after a nuclear war has driven Americans underground. Along the way, she encounters the battle-hardened soldier Maximus, portrayed by Aaron Moten, and the enigmatic Ghoul character brought to life by Goggins.
The series is created by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, the acclaimed minds behind Westworld, and boasts an impressive ensemble cast that also includes Kyle MacLachlan, Chris Parnell, Matt Berry, and Sarita Choudhury.
But the early release of the Fallout series may just be the tip of the iceberg. According to a report from Variety, the California Film Commission has already allocated $25 million in tax credits for a potential second season of the show to be filmed within the state.
