EA Sports PGA Tour Swings Biggest Update Yet With New Courses, Legendary Golfer Jack Nicklaus

Season 11 patch brings slew of new content including 4 major championship venues, Golden Bear debut, and gameplay refinements

EA Sports has teed off its most substantial content update yet for the hit golf sim EA Sports PGA Tour, unleashing a sizable Season 11 patch stuffed with new courses, an iconic real-life pro golfer, fresh gameplay improvements, and more.

Headlining the update are four high-profile course additions pulled straight from this year’s slate of major professional championships. Valhalla Golf Course (Kentucky), Pinehurst No. 2 (North Carolina), Royal Troon (Scotland), and the iconic Augusta National Par 3 Course have all been recreated in-game.

The new venues will be available across a wide array of modes including Quick Play, Private Matches, and incorporated into the Online/Tournament playlist rotations. Pinehurst No. 2 and Valhalla have also been seamlessly integrated into Ryder Cup formats across the various game modes.

While the marquee course additions are already a substantial haul, perhaps the most legendary part of Season 11 is the debut of golfing icon Jack Nicklaus as a new playable pro golfer. Widely regarded as one of the all-time greatest in the sport’s history, the “Golden Bear” Nicklaus arrives with his own unique club set, multiple outfits, and an authentically recreated swing animation.

Nicklaus can be used on any course or format supporting real-life pro golfers. To commemorate his milestone inclusion, the developer has also added a dedicated “Jack Nicklaus” challenge series chronicling some of his most noteworthy major championship victories and career highlights.

Beyond the fresh new content, EA has implemented a number of gameplay refinements and quality-of-life improvements based on community feedback. This includes increasing the online matchmaking timeout, updating specific swing animations, fixing bugged item visuals, and resolving several stability issues.

The “In to Out” swing animation has been revised, while the “TaylorMade MySpider Red” putter’s incorrect color scheme in left-handed view has been corrected. Various UI elements like Patrick Cantlay’s player portrait and store item icons have also received touch-ups.

On the content front, players can look forward to consistent new item rotations for the in-game store. Newcomers have a new “Starter Bundle” available with assorted gear, while Jack Nicklaus’ signature swing has been added to the store’s rotating options.

With the season 11 update, the total number of playable courses in EA Sports PGA Tour has ballooned to 39 with 23 pro golfers now available to choose from. More refinements and content additions are likely on the horizon as the developers reinforce their commitment to evolving the popular golfing experience.

For both seasoned links veterans and newcomers just teeing off, this substantial free update represents a impressive content injection breathing new life into EA’s distinguished PGA Tour franchise. From world-famous tournament locations to one of golf’s most transcendent figures in Nicklaus himself, this season’s offerings look to elevate an already compelling sim to even loftier heights.
