To initiate “The Uninvited Guest” side quest, you’ll need to progress the story until your next objective is to make for the Aire of Hours. Once you reach this point, several quests will become available, including “The Uninvited Guest,” which can be found in the western part of Haven, given to Clive by Jamila.
Jamila informs Clive of a mysterious figure she spotted moving around the town, initially mistaking it for Clive himself. As she ponders the situation further, she realizes an outsider has made their way into the secluded village, posing a risk to Mysidia’s secrecy. Fearing the consequences of an outsider learning Haven’s location, Jamila tasks Clive with locating and containing this uninvited guest.
After leaving Haven’s southern exit, you’ll quickly spot a quest icon on the ground, leading you to a perfume bottle dropped by the enigmatic visitor. As Clive inspects the bottle, the guest is spotted spying on the village from a distance. Pursue them to the south, and you’ll find them ambushed by local wildlife, forcing you to dispatch the monsters and protect the guest.
Jamila, having followed Clive, reveals that the guest is none other than Herve, one of her former clients from her time working outside Mysidia – and her lost love. Herve’s quest to uncover the lost Leviathan led him to Haven, but Jamila cannot allow him to leave due to the village’s strict secrecy policies.
After the encounter, return to Haven and speak with Jamila, now located east of the southern gate. She will explain her reasons for seeking work outside the village and her inability to stay with Herve. Shula must then decide Haven’s course of action regarding the lovestruck fool who risked everything to reunite with his “little canary.”
Upon completing “The Uninvited Guest,” Clive will receive 1 Ageless Millet, a crafting material, as a reward for his efforts.
