Ready or Not Studio Void Interactive Reels from Massive 4TB Data Breach

Stolen Files Include Source Code, Console Builds, and Performance Test Results for Acclaimed Tactical Shooter

In a devastating blow to the development of the acclaimed tactical shooter “Ready or Not,” its creator Void Interactive has fallen victim to a crippling data breach. According to reports, a hacker group managed to steal a staggering 4 terabytes of data from the studio, including sensitive information about the game’s past, present, and future.

The breach, first disclosed by the hackers in March, has exposed a trove of critical files, ranging from the game’s source code to early builds and console port development. While Void Interactive has yet to officially acknowledge the attack, the stolen data has raised serious concerns among the game’s passionate community.

Among the leaked contents are the source codes for both the current and older versions of “Ready or Not,” as well as the code for console builds targeting PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The breach has also revealed performance test results and even images showcasing the game running on a PlayStation 4 test kit.

“This leak is arguably one of the biggest in gaming history, surpassing the Insomniac leaks that occurred in December last year,” said Insider Gaming, which has verified the contents of the breach. The Insomniac incident, which exposed 1.67TB of data, was itself considered a massive data heist prior to this latest breach.

Given that “Ready or Not” has been in development for over 8 years, the 4TB of stolen data could potentially include a wealth of unreleased content, such as canceled concepts and early prototypes. This raises concerns about the game’s future, as the hacker group may choose to publicly release the sensitive information, potentially compromising Void Interactive’s work.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of any personal information belonging to players or staff members being compromised in the breach. Additionally, the game itself appears to remain unaffected, with Void Interactive yet to address the situation publicly.

As the industry grapples with this latest high-profile data theft, the gaming community is left to wonder how this breach will impact the continued development and eventual release of “Ready or Not.” Void Interactive’s silence on the matter has only heightened the uncertainty, leaving fans to hope that the studio is working closely with authorities to address the situation and safeguard the game’s future.
