Tekken 8 and Chipotle Partner for Exclusive Culinary and Gaming Experiences

The fast-casual restaurant is going all-in on the popular fighting game franchise, offering in-game currency, a fan-voted burrito bowl, and tournament sponsorships.

Chipotle is stepping up its commitment to the gaming community, announcing a major partnership with the upcoming Tekken 8 that will provide a slew of exclusive experiences for fans of the beloved fighting game series.

The highlight of the collaboration is the introduction of the “Tekken 8 Battle Bowl” – a custom burrito bowl crafted through a fan vote that features a mouthwatering mix of chicken, white rice, black beans, salsa, fajita veggies, cheese, and guacamole. This limited-time menu item will be available for ordering exclusively through Chipotle’s website and mobile app.

“Hungry Tekken fans can also try out the Tekken 8 Battle Bowl,” the announcement stated, noting that over 38,000 votes were cast to determine the bowl’s ingredients.

But the partnership extends beyond just food. Chipotle is also offering Tekken 8 players the opportunity to earn premium in-game currency, known as Tekken Coins, by using a special promo code with their orders. Customers who order through Chipotle.com or the app and enter the code “EWGF623” will receive 500 Tekken Coins, a nod to the famous “Electric Wind God Fist” move from the fighting game franchise.

The restaurant chain is also deepening its investment in the competitive gaming space, returning as the presenting sponsor of the 2024 Evolution Championship Series (Evo) tournament in Las Vegas. Chipotle will host an on-site community lounge and introduce “Chipotle Extra Match” segments to highlight additional gameplay beyond the main broadcast.

Additionally, Chipotle is launching its own branded tournament series, the 2024 Chipotle Challenger, set to take place on the PlayStation Tournaments platform. The grand finals will award the winners free Chipotle for a year, a trip to Evo 2024, and a share of a $20,000 cash prize.

“It looks like the company is still a great fan of fighting games and still a good friend to the community,” the announcement noted, highlighting Chipotle’s longstanding support for the competitive gaming scene.

With this multifaceted partnership, Chipotle is clearly aiming to deeply embed itself within the Tekken 8 fandom, providing both in-game and real-world perks to engage the passionate player base. From custom menu items to tournament sponsorships, the fast-casual restaurant is going all-in on this fighting game collaboration.
