In a testament to its unrelenting success, Japanese gaming powerhouse Capcom has once again shattered its own records, achieving unprecedented profits for the seventh consecutive year. The company’s latest annual financial results paint a picture of remarkable growth, fueled by a series of blockbuster releases across its most iconic franchises.

For the financial year ending March 2024, Capcom’s figures soared to new heights, with net sales reaching approximately $977 million, a staggering 21% increase compared to the previous year. Operating income climbed to $366 million, up 12.3%, while ordinary income and net income attributable to owners of the parent company saw impressive gains of 15.7% and 18.1%, respectively, further solidifying Capcom’s dominant position in the gaming industry.

The driving force behind these record-breaking results was the company’s software sales, led by the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 4 remake, which sold an impressive 3.39 million units during the financial period. However, Capcom’s success extended far beyond a single title, with a remarkable 15 games surpassing the coveted 1 million unit sales mark.

Among the standout performers were Street Fighter 6, with 3.3 million units sold, and the highly anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2, which moved an impressive 2.6 million copies. Even older titles like Monster Hunter World and Resident Evil 7 continued to contribute to Capcom’s success, while the updated version of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen capitalized on the hype for the sequel, selling nearly 1.7 million copies.

Buoyed by these triumphs, Capcom’s forecast for the next annual results is understandably optimistic. The company anticipates net sales of approximately $1 billion and operating income of around $410 million, setting the stage for yet another record-breaking year.

On the horizon, Capcom has announced several highly anticipated titles, including Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and Monster Hunter Wilds, while new entries in the Resident Evil franchise, such as the rumored Resident Evil 9, are expected to further bolster the company’s portfolio.

Capcom’s remarkable seven-year streak of record-high profits and sales is a testament to the company’s ability to consistently deliver high-quality gaming experiences that resonate with audiences worldwide. With a deep well of beloved franchises and a keen eye for innovation, Capcom appears poised to extend its reign as a dominant force in the gaming industry for years to come.

As the company looks ahead to the 2025 fiscal year, its optimistic outlook and proven track record suggest that this dynasty of success is far from over. Fans and investors alike can anticipate more groundbreaking releases, record-breaking sales, and continued growth from one of the gaming industry’s most formidable players.
