Texas Chainsaw Massacre Update Brings Free Level 99 Blackout Cosmetics, Perk Tuning

Gun Interactive's patch 1.17 rewards dedicated players while adjusting key gameplay perks.

The twisted world of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre game just got a sinister new cosmetic reward for its most devoted players, as the asymmetrical multiplayer title’s latest update 1.17 introduces free “Blackout” skins for those who have reached the coveted level 99.

Developer Gun Interactive detailed the marquee addition in the patch notes, revealing that level 99 players will automatically unlock all-black monochromatic versions of each character’s base outfit after installing the new update. However, there are a couple of notable exceptions.

For the iconic Leatherface, instead of a full Blackout outfit, he will wield the appropriately named “Oil Slick” jet-black chainsaw skin. As for the character Virginia, Gun says she will receive her own Blackout cosmetic in a future update.

“While the whole Family is the focus of our game, Leatherface is the figurehead and the face of the franchise,” Gun Interactive explained. “From the mask to the apron and every stitch between, his cosmetics should reflect that icon status, without altering the elements that make up the whole.”

In addition to the free level 99 rewards, update 1.17 also introduces a new premium $2.99 “Sissy Wildflower Outfit” cosmetic featuring a vibrant floral print dress.

But the patch isn’t just about unlocking swag for the game’s most hardcore players. It also implements some key gameplay tweaks and fixes related to various character perks:
