Hollywood star Chris Pratt has ignited speculation about a potential jump to the DC Universe (DCU) following a recent visit to the set of James Gunn’s highly anticipated “Superman: Legacy.” The actor, best known for his role as Star-Lord in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise, expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of joining the competing superhero universe.

In a recent interview with TMZ, Pratt confirmed that “there’s always a chance” he could make the leap to DC. When asked directly if he would join the franchise, Pratt responded with an enthusiastic, “Yes, of course.” He added, “If it could fit into my schedule and it made sense, I would love it.”

The speculation began when James Gunn, now co-head of DC Studios, shared a photo of Pratt visiting the “Superman: Legacy” set earlier this month. Gunn captioned the image, “Always nice to have friends visiting set,” fueling rumors about Pratt’s potential involvement in the DCU.

Pratt, however, remained coy about which DC character he might potentially portray. “I just have to leave that to the fans and people like James to decide,” he stated. “I’m not exactly sure. I’m truly not sure.” This ambiguity has led fans to speculate about various roles, with some even suggesting he could be in the running to play Batman in the new DCU.

The actor’s potential transition wouldn’t be unprecedented. Gunn has previously stated that he’s open to casting MCU actors in his upcoming DCU projects. In fact, Pom Klementieff, Pratt’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” co-star, recently revealed that she’s in talks with Gunn about playing a specific, unnamed character in the DCU.

While Pratt expressed excitement about the possibility of joining the DCU, he also reaffirmed his love for his Marvel role. “Of course I love playing Star-Lord, and hopefully there’s a chance that can come back,” he said. “I just feel so blessed to be able to do any of it, to be considered for any of it. If it’s right and the fans would love it, I’d be more than happy to do it.”

Gunn, who directed Pratt in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” trilogy, is currently hard at work on “Superman: Legacy,” which will kick off a new era for DC. The film stars David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen.

As for the possibility of a Marvel-DC crossover, Gunn has hinted that it’s “more likely now that I’m in charge,” though he emphasized that such an event would be “many years away.”

With Pratt’s openness to joining the DCU and his established relationship with Gunn, fans are eagerly awaiting any official announcements about the actor’s potential involvement in upcoming DC projects.
