Deadpool Team-Ups with Spider-Man, She-Hulk Eyed After ‘Wolverine’ Film

Director Levy Hopes for Spidey Crossover, While Producer Pitches Titania Showdown

Deadpool & Wolverine

With Deadpool’s latest buddy adventure Deadpool & Wolverine hitting theaters next month, the creative minds behind the Merc with a Mouth are already dreaming up potential team-ups and matchups for future installments.

In a recent interview with Total Film magazine, Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy revealed he’d love to helm a crossover between Deadpool and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man if given the chance.

“The thing about Deadpool is I think he makes everything more interesting because of his audacity,” Levy said. “But, boy, I’d sure love to see Deadpool and Spidey. That’s a movie I’d love to make. I feel like Tom Holland would run circles around everyone else.”

The pairing of the wise-cracking, fourth-wall-breaking antihero Deadpool and the wisecracking, youthful Spider-Man could prove combustible on-screen chemistry. The two Marvel Comics characters have long been fan-favorite teammates in the comic book source material.

While a Deadpool/Spider-Man live-action crossover remains speculative, Levy could potentially direct the pair if tapped for the upcoming Avengers 5 – a project recent reports indicate he is Marvel Studios’ top choice to helm.

Meanwhile, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law producer Wendy Jacobson has her own pitch for Deadpool’s next foil – suggesting the foul-mouthed mercenary could find his match against Jameela Jamil’s scene-stealing Titania from the Disney+ series.

“She’s such a heightened, hilarious character and also an actor who can improv and is razor-sharp and can banter,” Jacobson said of Jamil’s bombastic villain.

“I can’t imagine being an actor, period, but I can’t imagine having to work opposite someone like Ryan Reynolds, who is just so quick and so smart and so funny all the time – but that woman could handle it.”

The verbal sparring and meta-humor between Deadpool and Titania could prove a delightfully chaotic big-screen pairing. Fans have already rallied online for Jamil to appear alongside Ryan Reynolds’ foul-mouthed mercenary in a future project.

For now, Deadpool’s next outing remains the highly anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine alongside Hugh Jackman’s iconic X-Men mutant. The film, which reunites Reynolds with his Free Guy and The Adam Project director Levy, is set for release on July 26th.

But if these latest quotes are any indication, Reynolds’ future as Deadpool could involve web-slinging team-ups, She-Hulk smackdowns, and any number of audacious ensemble possibilities – assuming the character’s biting meta-humor and R-rated antics can find their place in the expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe.
