DLC Adds Multiple DeLoreans, Jurassic Park Jeep, and KITT from Knight Rider

Forza Horizon 5

Forza Horizon 5 is going full blockbuster with its latest premium car pack. Today, developer Playground Games unveiled the “Universal Icons” vehicle DLC, bringing a star-studded lineup of iconic Hollywood rides to the open-world racer.

Headlining the $10 pack is a trio of DeLorean Time Machines as seen across the Back to the Future trilogy films. Each version features its own unique look and visual effects that trigger after hitting the fabled 88mph time travel speed.

Also included is the 1992 Jeep Wrangler Sahara from the original Jurassic Park movie, complete with the park’s logo and distinctive decals. And representing 1980s TV culture is KITT, the wildly advanced Pontiac Firebird Trans Am from Knight Rider – equipped with a body kit evocative of its “Super Pursuit Mode” persona.

While an assortment of modern supercars and electric vehicles rounds out this latest Forza Horizon 5 update, these iconic movie and TV cars are sure to be the main attraction for many players. Their inclusion allows Xbox racers to experience some of pop culture’s most beloved and recognizable automobiles in stunning modern detail amid Horizon’s sprawling Mexican environs.

The Universal Icons pack represents the latest high-profile partnership for Playground’s hit open-world racing franchise, which previously launched tie-in content with Fast & Furious and Hot Wheels. Given Forza’s mainstream appeal, however, these enduring celebrity car cameos could expose new generations to classic automotive moments in film history.

Younger players unfamiliar with Back to the Future’s time-traveling DeLorean, for instance, can now virtually collect all three on-screen variants and recreate their own adventures from the classic 1980s trilogy. And older audiences get the nostalgia kick of taking KITT’s hyper-pursuit mode or Jurassic Park’s rugged Jeep on insane off-road rampages.

For better or worse, branded content and vehicle DLC have increasingly become facts of life for modern racers. But by leaning into iconic pop culture rides closely associated with timeless movies, Forza Horizon 5’s latest car pack manages to infuse some genuine fun into this oft-criticized cash grab formula.

Beyond its novelty value, whether the Universal Icons pack proves worth $10 is up to the individual player’s nostalgia levels and desire to build their own fleet of showroom-worthy silver screen rides. But by taking fans 88 miles per hour and beyond in some of Hollywood’s defining automotive stars, Forza Horizon 5 is enthusiastically embracing its natural intersection of cars, movies, and unforgettable action thrills.
