Fake ‘And Just Like That’ Filming Notices Spark Confusion and Amusement in NYC

As production for the hit show's third season begins, mysterious pranksters leave fans puzzled with outlandish fictional storylines

And Just Like That

Folks in New York City have been doing a double take at some hilarious fake filming notices posted around town about the show “And Just Like That.” The spin-off series to “Sex and the City” is super popular, so at first glance the notices look real. But the storylines they describe are just too crazy to be true!

One notice I saw says the main character Carrie Bradshaw will hire Jim Carrey’s character from the movie “Liar Liar” to be her lawyer after getting hit by one of those Citi Bikes we see everywhere. Another one claims she goes on a disastrous date with Mr. Bean! And get this – one flyer says at brunch with her friends, Carrie reveals she’s actually Garfield the cat in disguise. I mean, come on!

No surprise that these wacky notices have had people both confused and laughing. All over social media you can find folks sharing photos of them and asking who could possibly be behind such silly pranks. A lot of comments too about how bananas the new season must be going to be.

No one seems to know for sure who put them up as a joke. When the real people in charge of the show were asked, they hadn’t responded yet. Although one online user said they knew the prankster personally and that the person just wants to stay anonymous – probably to avoid unwanted attention online, I’m guessing!

While the stories aren’t real, the pranks have definitely sparked buzz about what’s actually coming in the new season, which is filming now in New York. Season three will keep following Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate their 50s. A bunch of famous new faces are also joining the show. Guess we’ll have to tune in next year to see what’s really in store – not that any of us expect Carrie to suddenly turn furry!
