People can’t wait for the new Marvel movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” coming out on July 26th! Even before it’s in theaters, there’s buzz about Hugh Jackman’s iconic Wolverine costume. The executive producer Wendy Jacobson said when they did a camera test, seeing Jackman for the first time in the character’s classic yellow and blue outfit made some grown men crying on set!
This was a big deal because for almost 25 years, since the first X-Men movie in 2000, Jackman has played Wolverine without ever wearing the costume fans know from the comics. The movies always had him in black leather instead. But the director Shawn Levy was determined to include the yellow suit this time. He told a magazine they may not get another chance for Wolverine on screen, so he wanted to do it right and make sure we finally see the old yellow and blue.
Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, said it was a “no-brainer” to put Jackman in the suit. You don’t do this pairing without the real costume. Reynolds also talked about the surprising reaction from the crew during Jackman’s fitting, showing how meaningful it was.
Fans have wanted to see Deadpool and Wolverine together ever since they first met in 2009’s X-Men Origins movie. This film seems like it will deliver on their chemistry. The emotional response to the yellow suit shows how connected people feel to these characters. When the movie comes out this summer, viewers can look forward to seeing one of Marvel’s most popular mutants portrayed accurately for the first time on the big screen. It should be lots of fun and action with Deadpool and Wolverine in his classic costume!
