In a wild twist, pop legend Madonna ended up playing a role in the new Marvel movie “Deadpool & Wolverine“! Directors Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy revealed how Madonna helped punch up a key scene.
Reynolds and Levy had to personally meet with Madonna to get the rights to use her iconic 1989 song “Like a Prayer” in the film. Madonna doesn’t normally license her songs for movies, especially big ones like that. But the directors were determined and it paid off!
What’s even crazier is that Madonna didn’t just sign off – she gave creative input too. After watching part of the scene with her song, she said the directors needed to change something. And get this – they immediately went back and re-recorded that section based on Madonna’s note! Both Reynolds and Levy said it made the moment way better.
We don’t know the exact changes Madonna suggested. But her involvement shows how music and movies can blend together. One of Madonna’s sons is actually a big Deadpool fan too, so that may have helped convince her.
The new Marvel flick pairs up Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool with Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine. With a star-studded soundtrack and now input from Madonna herself, this unexpected crossing of pop and superheroes has me really curious to see how it all comes together on screen!
