Poker Face” is back and better than ever! The mystery series is getting ready to start filming its second season for Peacock. Show creator Rian Johnson announced on Instagram that they started shooting new episodes on July 1st. While we don’t know when the new season will come out yet, things are really heating up behind the scenes.

Natasha Lyonne is returning as the sneaky but smart detective Charlie Cale. She was awesome in season one and even got nominated for an Emmy award! Lyonne is also stepping behind the camera to direct one of the new episodes. It will be cool to see her perspective on the other side.

The new season is lining up some really famous faces too. Giancarlo Esposito from “Breaking Bad” and “The Mandalorian” joined the cast in a mystery role. I’m guessing he’ll be someone trying to outsmart Charlie. Katie Holmes and Kumail Nanjiani will also appear, which should be hilarious since they’re such funny actors.

A few more big names got added to the lineup recently too. Sherry Cola from “Joy Ride,” Kevin Corrigan from “Narcos: Mexico,” Ben Marshall who was on “Saturday Night Live,” and Kathrine Narducci from “Euphoria” all signed on. Even better, Corrigan and Lyonne worked together before in the movie “Slums of Beverly Hills,” so they already have chemistry.

The show will continue following Charlie as she travels across America solving puzzles in strange new places. One mystery is who she might be going up against this time, like a shady group led by the character Beatrix Hasp, played by Rhea Perlman. Tony Tost is the new executive producer and will guide the creative choices with Johnson and Lyonne.

It looks like season two of “Poker Face” will be even more exciting. With Lyonne’s amazing performance, Rian Johnson’s storytelling, and all the talented guest stars, fans have a lot to look forward to. If you haven’t seen season one yet on Peacock, now is a good time to binge it before the next batch of episodes arrive!
