Alright fans, let’s talk about that gripping new legal thriller “Presumed Innocent” on Apple TV+. The finale just wrapped up and left me on the edge of my seat! This show follows prosecutor Rusty Sabich, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, as he gets caught up in a crazy murder case. I was hooked from episode one.
Now I know what you’re thinking – is there gonna be more? The finale just aired last month so are we getting another episode or part two of the season? Well Apple TV+ put those rumors to rest. While I was hoping for more, they confirmed no additional Season 1 content. BUT, they did give us some big news – the show has been renewed for Season 2! How cool is that?
It’s interesting because this was first pitched as a limited series. But it did so well that the creators are bringing it back. Jake Gyllenhaal and the whole creative team behind the scenes will return. And the author of the original “Presumed Innocent” book, Scott Turow, is even coming back as a producer. No details yet on what Season 2’s story will be about. I have some ideas of places they could take it though…
They may go deeper into that Bunny Davis murder that was mentioned last season. Or we could see more legal battles between Rusty and his rival Tommy Molto. I’m also curious about Rusty’s wife Barbara and her journey after everything that happened. And will Rusty find a way to reconnect with his son? Or will they switch things up with an entirely new crime plot? Fingers crossed Jake Gyllenhaal comes back too, but we’ll have to wait and see!
Either way, I’m pumped “Presumed Innocent” is sticking around. It’s cool that a streaming show is continuing on instead of being limited. While we wait for details on Season 2, you can catch up on Apple TV+ for only $10 a month. This one’s definitely worth a binge watch!
