Fortnite is adding something totally crazy – the Tesla Cybertruck! Starting July 24th, you’ll be able to hop in that weird-looking electric pickup truck in the game. But some players aren’t too happy about it.

The announcement trailer showed everyone’s favorite Fortnite character Fishstick taking the Cybertruck for a spin. It poked fun at how the real truck’s windows broke during its big reveal. Sounds pretty funny, right?

For a lot of folks, having such a unique vehicle in the game sounds super cool. I know I’d want to see how that triangular-shaped truck handles on the battlefields. And its armor-like exterior could give you an edge over enemy players! But others think including it is a bad idea.

Some say putting the Cybertruck in Fortnite is basically free advertising for Tesla. But the truck has faced issues in the real world too. Will having it destroyable in-game hurt its claim of being indestructible? A lot of players also don’t like how controversial Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk can be. Do we really need that kind of drama mixed up with Fortnite?

Here’s where it gets interesting – rumors are going around that just knowing you can blast Cybertrucks has gotten people interested in downloading Fortnite now! I guess all the heated debates are probably helping get the word out.

As the big July 24th release date nears, the community is pretty split. While some of us can’t wait to thrash around in the Tesla, others feel like it’s too odd a fit. Only time will tell if pairing the two was totally epic, or a big flop.

No matter what side you’re on, this crossover is a sign of how entertainment, tech brands and marketing keep blurring together these days. Games like Fortnite are becoming major platforms to reach huge audiences. In just a few weeks, we’ll find out if teaming up Tesla’s futuristic truck was a stroke of genius or a major clanger for both Fortnite and Tesla.
