Fans of crossover fighting games have reason to be excited thanks to some interesting clues from Capcom! Shuhei Matsumoto, the producer of Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection, recently talked to Dexerto about the future of these popular games.

When asked directly about Marvel vs Capcom 4, Matsumoto said “Maybe!” He explained that a new entry would take a lot of work, but the development team at Capcom definitely has big dreams for the franchise. Matsumoto also thinks a new game featuring Capcom and SNK characters could happen if fans show enough support.

The main goal with Fighting Collection is to introduce new players to these classic series, Matsumoto explained. By remastering the old Marvel vs Capcom games, it gets people familiar with the characters so they want more. If the collection does well, it proves to Marvel and Capcom that fans are still hype about these games.

On top of that, Matsumoto said Marvel is into tourneys like EVO and sees how much the fans love these crossover series. So if people show they really want another Marvel vs Capcom with Fighting Collection, it could pave the way.

At least for now, we’ll have to settle for SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos while we wait and see how Fighting Collection is received. But it seems like Capcom is listening, so get ready to show your support and potentially help make Marvel vs Capcom 4 a reality!
